Andy Warhol....Are you KIDDING me??

I had no idea.

That is, I had no idea that Andy Warhol was "in" to cats.

My friends just got back from their vacation at the Mensa Convention they always go to and the one this year was in Pittsburg, PA. I have been Ghost-sitting (friend's cat) for the past few years when they go on their adventures. They usually bring me something back as a happy, or "Thank You", if you will, when I "Ghost-sit". Last year they went to Denver and they brought me a fabulous necklace with a bear claw symbol and turquoise inlay. They go to the Labor Day festivities in New Orleans every year and last year brought me a pink tank top that says "I want to be Barbie, the B---- has Everything". This is the kind of guys they are. So, anyway, this year, they went to the Mensa Convention in Pittsburg and they went to the Andy Warhol Museum. I had NO IDEA that Andy Warhol was in to cats!!!

I'm THRILLED, to say the least, to get this book they brought me. It's called "CATS, CATS, CATS" and it contains a lot of drawings and quotes by Warhol. The cool thing is that, as I'm reading it, I can SOOOOO relate to what he's saying!!

"It's all in your attitude" YA THINK???

"What makes a person spend time being sad, when they could be happy?" Good question.

"People, I think, are the only things that know how to take more space than the space they're actually in."

Was Warhol a genious, or what??

He may have been defined as a genious later in life, but, I think his work prior to becoming famous for his Campbell's Soup cans and Marilyn speaks volumes.

"It's not what you are...its what they think you are".

Hey, that's my motto!

I love this one. "You have to be willing to get happy about nothing."
That is SO true.

I've already read thru the book and am looking forward to going thru it again. I'm also want to do some research into Warhol and his "cats". This book seems to indicate he had 25, all named "Sam".
It'll be interesting to see what I can find out.
And, I'm SURE you'll be subjected to more quotes from the book as the mood strikes me.

What a great book! Don't you love having something to research? I did that this week with an artist named Paul Klee. I have a print that was reframed because it fell off the wall. I'm impressed with my old print, now.

So reading this had me googling Andy Warhol. I had no idea he died in a hospital from surgery complications. I thought he was shot to death. Then I looked him up on wikipedia and learned a lot. In my little brain I had thought he designed the campbells soup can, not painted pictures of it. Duh. I was too young I guess to get the whole drift of what was going on. Plus, I've never studied art so I'll give myself a break there too ;-)
See what you've done? You've inadvertently educated a neophyte in a piece of art culture & history. Your influence is getting scary!

good morning ppl. I'm really into shoes and I have been digging as far as something that meticulous brand. The prices due to the fact that the boots were all over 300 dollars on every page. But finally I bring about this site selling them as a remedy for half price. I in reality love these gucci sneakers. I will definetly purchase them. what can you say about it?
